I'm not nearly as experienced as some others who have posted, but I have got mine in a 2'' viv, with 3 hide boxes, and she seems happy alternating between the 3. I wanted a viv as a show tank. If feeding is a measure of happiness, she is very happy. She is a voracious feeder and has gone up 3 sizes of mice since september!
Having said that, when I get some more, i plan to house them in tubs, for ease and cost.
So I guess so long as there is loads of cover in the viv, and you want to use it as a display, a viv should be ok. If you are planning on keeping a few, use tubs.

i keep most of mine in tubs but do have a few in vivs.
The only thing with vivs is that the snake will spend most of its time in hides and only come out at night, so you may never seen them anyway!

when i first started keeping royals i would never of dreamt that i would keep any in tubs but now i know different and find that they do much better in tubs.

only my veiw Very Happy

I keep all mine in tubbies as well, and I have to day for cleaning they can't be beaten, and all mine seem happy enough. I agree that Vivs look nice, but it depends on how many your planning on collecting, with royals I think it's always good to assume that you are going to end up with a house full, and go with tubs, as ONE royal is NEVER enough Wink Laughing

Nice to see you've got your avatar back Paul Wink We did miss him Laughing Just don't annoy Stuart or god knows what you'll end up with Laughing

Pete, I've heard the rumours about you on Friday nights Laughing
