I got fly mesh from my local hardware store, it's plasticy soft mesh, easy to staple gun in place and not expensive. Doesn't block your view too much either!

Thanks I have been to both of those shops and they were both very helpful.
I bought some mesh from my local garden centre and have cut a hole in the top and covered it with the mesh. Everything else is in place now, i think i am ready to pick up my chameleon sometime next week. What does everyone think? Is there anything you can see wrong with it?

Thanks. I just hope I have got it all right.
I should be collecting him on Sunday.
Just one other question, I have read a bit about it but everyone seems to have different opinions on it.
What supplements do you all dust the food with and how often?

Thanks Karen, does anyone else have any advice on the supplements side of things?

Also do you think there is any way that a chameleon would be able to get anywhere near the bulb and burn itself, i think i have positioned it so it cant but i know they are good climbers just not sure how good yet.
You should be able to tell the bulbs position from my previous photos.

Hi mate.
What you could do is cut a large hole in the top on one side.size of hole approx 100mm. you can use a jig saw, or to get a nice clean round hole use a hole cutter which fits into a drill. fix ceramic bulb holder to an alluminium reflector & sit this on the top. my chams can bask right underneath without being able to touch it.
