Helloo again...

I have decided to make a few changes to my viv, but need a little advice from the elders before i go blowing some money..

I'm looking to get a ceramic heat lamp (one that gives off no light, as i'm trying to raise the ambient temp in the viv during the day and night)... My viv is 36"x16"x48". How much wattage will i need to bring the temp up to around high 20's/30c?

150w, 200w, 250w!?

Also about to buy a misting system, which will take a lot of pressure off making sure im in to tend to my guy...

and some thermostats, new timers etc...

i love spending money...

Very Happy

For that size viv you will need a 250w. Make sure it has a guard and make sure the chameleon cant get anywhere near the guard.
A thermostat must be used and the best stats on the market are the lucky reptile pro 2. These stats are great.
Some people dont like using ceramics for chameleons but ive used them and have had no problems.
If you are installing a mister then keep it well away from the ceramic and other electrical equipment. Dont need no fires!

ok, cool...

i have been thinking of getting an AHS instead, as they already have thermostats on them, but you have adjust them manually for the day and the drop at night...

Do you think i could use this to regulate the AHS? or is it not safe/a good idea...?

If i understand you right, you want to regulate a microclimate all in one heater with a dimming stat. To be totally honest I would not have a clue what would happen if you done that, but please dont try. Plugging a thermostat into a piece of equipment with a thermostat already built in will probably cause an accident.

If you are trying to create a good ambient temperature then set the microclimate heater to 75 and have a bulb on during the day, this should give you a good gradient and a nice warm hotspot. When the light goes off for the evening the microclimate will keep the viv at a nice constant temperature.

When it comes to electrics be very carefull.
