Well they were delivered today and I cant do a thing with them . Oh well, I have half the money saved towards a Tamron 90, so it shouldnt take to long to get one. _________________ Cheers Angi

The Tamron is a very good lens according to all reviews. Only thing I don't like about it is that the lens changes in length quite a bit as you focus. The Canon lens doesn't and focuses much faster and is very quiet. But then its also quite a bit more expensive. just over £350 over here. |

Very true Ron its length does change but not drastically..I don't even notice tbh..also I nearly always use manual focus for macro work so focus speed isn't an issue... _________________

I've read that comparison as well and more. There isn't much of a difference, The Tamron is a little better when it comes to sharpness, the Canon in other respects. If you read carefully even the reviewer would choose the Canon, IF they were similarly priced. And in other test/review sites the Canon gets slightly higher scores overall. At least all the sites I visited. But the price difference quoted here makes the Tamron the obvious choice for most people. |
