With reference to your question regarding 'Hog' or 'Hogg', I do not know for sure which is correct, however, if I am not mistaken, one explanation could be that the Hog/Hogg Island Boa is found in the Cayo De Cochino, which are, I believe, two Islands in South America (one larger than the other), in the Honduras region. A translation of 'Cochino' from Spanish to English, is 'Pig' or 'Sow'.
So these Islands are known as the Little Pig Island and the Large (Grande) Pig Island.
Add to that the fact that 'Hog'/'Hogg' are both accepted spellings of another word used for Pigs. With this in mind, one can only assume that either spelling is correct, and it is just a case of personal preference.
I may well be wrong, and I am sure that if I am, somebody will be along shortly to correct me. Therefore, don't quote me on any of the above. |

Thanks for all the kind words guys
I guess people will continue to use Hog and Hogg interchangeably!
I got her from Ameyzoo. I had been looking for a while though! Hopefully in a few years I will get a male and be able to breed. I need to move house first though so I have more space, and want to have more experience before I jump into breeding. _________________ 1.0.0 Carolina corn
