Okay, I was bought a Canon 350D for Christmas and Im wondering which lens or filter to buy for better macro shots.
A friend suggested using a filter - does anyone else use these?
I will try reading a bit more about them, but would also appreciate some advice from anyone who is experienced. _________________ Cheers Angi

Dedicated Macro lens would be better than using flters or extension rings.
I use 28mm - 105mm USM II Ultrasonic w/ Macro other good lens I've heard is the Tamron 90mm . Try take your camera into local shop and get a feel for the lens ...i'm sure they would oblige.
Stuart will probs input ( if he has not already with me typing ) _________________ 3.7.0 Royals

As Pete says a true macro i.e one that offers 1.1 reproduction is best..I have had a fair few macros and tbh they are all very good at their job.My favourite is the tamron 90mm..nice working length and superb optics!!..Don't be fooled by the so called pseudo macros like sigma 24-70mm etc..they do not focus as close as a true macro and in all honesty just focus a little closer than their counterparts..Pricewise expect to pay between £200-300 pound for a macro in the range of 50-100mm.. _________________

Thanks Jon.
Is there any chance anyone could post any macro shots taken with their chosen lens? _________________ Cheers Angi
