Tamron AF70 -300 MM F/4-5.6 LDmacro 1:2

Any info on this lense i google but got to much info back Confused

i have one but im a learner so any help appreciated Laughing

I have no idea what uses it has LOL

No worries it can get confusing Steve...to try and put it simply..the lower the f stop number the higher the shutter speed you will get which means a lens with an aperture of 2.8 will give you faster shutter speeds than a lens at 5.6. This is great if you are trying to shoot sports or moving subjects..but also helps reduce blur on static shots as the shutter opens and shuts much quicker..It does effect your depth of field as you can guess..something shot at 2.8 will have nowhere near as much of the image in focus beyond the focus point than the same shot done at f8 for example..but the shot at f8 will require more light which in turn requires slower shutter speeds or higher iso's..hope this helps a little..have a practice with different apertures(f stops) and hopefully the waffle above will make more sense. Cool

Cool Try a few handheld too mate..you'll get a better feel for what shutter speeds are best for certain situations.
