Well i got 2 cresties at the ERAC show last year which is all good and lovely, since having them they have both been in a exo-terra just a small one for now as they're ickle.

So one is doing amazingly well, eating me out of house and home etc the other however isn't quite so good.

Before xmas i noticed it just wasn't sticky and was very lethargic and pale etc just generally looking naff and about ready to croak it.

So i moved it into a cricket tub on its own in my room which is warmer than down here and it's on kitchen roll etc and has picked up and is doing a lot better, eating more than before but still not live and is more active now but it's still not sticky?

I feed them CGD and baby food in a mix every 2 days and offer crickets here and there which the one down here stuffs but the other isn't touching live at all.

I mix a mix of calypso/nutrabol powder in once a week as with all other lizards etc and as a treat they VERY OCCASIONALLY get a small bit of banana mushed up.

So, how do i get the stickyness back on the smaller one? It did have retained shed which is now all off due to being kept on damp kitchen towel but it's just not sticky still.....

Not too sure on that one Rachel, is the gecko like 'jelly' in anyway? wobbly / unsteady etc?

Seems to be fairly normal, seems to make a bit over-exagerated movements with its legs maybe to get anywhere.

Don't know if there's something i should be doing or if its a case of wait until next shed and see if it rights itself.

Its not very keen on CGD but loves babyfood so i'm debating taking out the CGD and sticking to baby food and just adding more calcium but not sure how much/often to add calcium really.

It wouldn't suprise me if it was diet related, possible calcium problem.

I'm not too sure what to suggest, personally I would try and switch to CGD and if you wanted mash fresh fruit in with it, make it really running.

I liquidize 5-6 bananas, add 5-6 heaped spoons of CGD and add water until it's very running. Using that I've not fed a cricket to any of my breeding adults for about 6 months.

Will try that then, the other one though is steaming along, unless that's just been hogging all the food etc - will try banana or plum is another favourite mixed with CGD then, reckon its better to add supplements or just leqave it down to CGD as some have said that is EVERYTHING they need others have said don't trust it alone and add supplements.

All I can say Rachel is that since switching to CGD I've had no problems. I don't mix anything with it in terms of supplements and only started adding bananas due to running low on CGD so I needed to bulk it up. Since then I got into the habit of adding the banana. no idea why I've carried on really, other than I like the smell when mixing it all Embarassed Laughing

My littler beggers have a mini mealworm addiction! I'm trying to get them back onto more CGD, and less or no wormies. I'm currently adding a little spoon of Frutapura baby puree with the CGD with the tiniest drip of water, and that seems to keep a nice consistency. And smells nice as well Very Happy

Rach mine wouldn't touch crickets at all, I put some tiny little once in once and then had to sit up half the night splatting them as they cresties were scared to death of them Laughing

Do you know I can't remember, but I think they were browns, and about 2nd instar, you could see the looks of terror in their little faces, silly though it sounds. Laughing

I'm going to get them back onto just the CGD now though, expecially after reading your post about over calcified eggs, as Paul can't deal with weeping women, and I'd get really upset Laughing

The Mini Mealies seem to have packed some weight onto them though so might be helpful for Rach if she needs to get a little weight on her little one, although that could have a lot to do witht he special diet the mealies get Wink
