So I'm assuming they are basically fish tanks, to all intents and purposes? If you made a screen lid you could put a young crestie in there, it would just mean you having to take the lid off to get in all the time, or maybe be really cleaver and turn the thing up and make a door? _________________ www.draco2.co.uk

Try a 5% bleach solution and fill the thing to the very top and let it soak, then rinse the hell out of it, let it dry out and then rinse it again. I cant think of anything else.
With the sliding glass doors idea, if you are having the glass cut to make doors, you could always see if they can cut a window or 2 into the glass for you and fit a small mesh screen over it, if you had one at either end then you would get through draught. _________________ www.draco2.co.uk

what you will probably want to do is make a wood frame that goes around the tank and then screw the mesh to the top.
as for ideas to go in it what about a rankin? maybe a corn snake or a little hognose? depends on what you like? a desert species of scorp? |

yes easily, but am not very good at describing!!!! its so easy though. sheet of plastic cut to size and those plastic corner things you get. i did it once and my corn lived in it very happily. the lid slides on and off this way. _________________

sorry for the double post but ive just been having a little think about this. and came up with this very amateur paint drawing. the grey is the mesh but thinking about it could be perspex if you want more humidity (suppose that depends on what you eventually put in it) you could always add vent to it if you do go with perspex. the black dots are screws to keep the mesh/perspex to the wooden frame shown in the other view. also if you get a snake you might want to make it more heavy as they are great escape artists. hope this helps. |

right i will try. you know that plastic edging you get for the bath etc. well use adhesive and put it along the top of three sides of the tank, and along the front edge of the lid. cut the perspex so it fits and is able to slide in and out of the eging securely. drill ventilation holes in the perspex and your away. _________________

forgot to add the perspexmust be cut to slide on the actual top of the tank walls, and fit snuggly between the top of the wall and the plastic edging. _________________
