Took some pics today tried to capture the difference in colours and pattern between the animals but it is difficult. I'm no Stuart when it comes to taking pics that's for sure. It is hard to imagine but they are built like tanks the body to tail ratio is about the same real power horses they are.
When I opened the enclosures of several animals one of the males started to display unfortunately I couldn't get any descent shots they walk high of the ground anyway but it was like walking tip toe such a sight. |

Yes the males are around 4ft but in body size they are the equivalent to a 5ft water monitor. |

Tried to capture walking motion, they don't drag their tails like some other monitor species it is lifted completely off the ground. |
