Hi guys.
I need some advice for Suzy, my albino, who has been attacked by my male Dexter.
Suzy had just laid 2 eggs yesterday morning and was still in the viv with Dexter. I took them out for cleaning yesterday afternoon and put them back in the viv together.
Dexter thought that Suzy was a new female and tried mating, Dexter is a big fella and sometimes can't take no for an answer.
Well things got ugly and the two where biting and dragging each other by the tails. Dexter has a bite on his head now but not too serious but the aftermath for Suzy I didn't notice until this morning.
Here are some pics I managed to take of Suzy's tail. Her behaviour is normal and the only thing I can tell thats wrong is the tail which seems quite limp. The end seems to be dead and purple-ish.
I have tried to clean it up a bit but the blood has dried up and I don't know if I should just leave it or do more??
Any help is appreciated!!!
Neil

what i would do is keep her on her own with just a simple kitchen paper substrate and keep a close eye on her. the tail will probably drop of from were its dead but should grow back. just make sure shes kept clean as it will probably be easily infected and make sure shes still eating and drinking. if your really worried then take her to a vet hope she gets better soon and hopefully somebody with more experience with geckos dropping tails will reply. |

Yep, keep her on her own, keep her warm, make sure the humid hide is constantly moist, make sure if she doesnt eat crickets with 10-15 mins you remove them because they could start to chew on the inside of the wound.
The end of the tail will drop off but it will regrow, sadly though not back to normal. |

Hi
I recently had a female have a run in with my Male, she had a big chunk missing out of her tail ( the depth of the ridges) and i just quarantines her in a flat faunarium with kitchen roll, 2 hides (moist and dry) and left her to it, now her tail is fully healed it still hasn't grown back the ridge but has got her patterning back now aswell il try and find some pics and post them soon!

Hey guys,
Suzy has shed now and the end of the tail from the bite has come off. Cleaned up the end of the tail so she doesn't get any infections. She is eating well and have followed all the advice given.
She did however bite me for the first time the other day, think I just had her out too long while attending to her tail.
Hopefully she will regrow the missing bit.
