Hi

My Boyfriend bought me two Cresties two weeks ago and up to last night they have been fine. Then last night one did something strange...when it was picked up it pulled all its limbs towards its body, its eyes seemed to sink into its head but then they immediately went back to normal and it started opening and closing its mouth! I assumed it was a bit stressed so returned it to its Viv and it ran round! It also ate alittle CGD mixed with organic baby food off my finger!

I thought it was ok, but then when I got home today it was really lathargic and sat in its food...I've cleaned the food off it best I can, but it is just sat in the bottom of the viv, hardly moving and its legs seem weird.

I dont know whats wrong with it or what to do...can anyone help?

Oh also they are only around 4/5 weeks old, they were fed baby food in the pet shop and i have been feeding them CGD mixed in with organic baby food and a few crickets. They are kept in a exoterra faunarium with plenty of hides/climbs/plastic plants and are kept at room temp...if that helps? The other crestie is fine and showing no signs the same!

PLEASE HELP

Oh I am so sorry! That sounds really scary. Perhaps it has had a seizure? I would keep it seperate from the other one for the moment and keep it warm and quiet and it might come round. Could be suffering from the seizure (if thats what it is). If it doesn't perk up, perhaps you could call a vet and see if they have any advice. Sorry I can't help more Sad Fingers crossed for the wee one

Anna

I work at a vets and have spoke to them today...i he said it sounded like it was stress and didnt want to be handled, especially as it moved around and ate after been returned to the viv!

id agree with scott, try and feed it some calcium dust off your finger, see if that helps.

You also could just open up the mouth and check for calcium reserves. Wink
