I have the opportunity to buy a flying snake, and am trying to find info on their care and breeding, without any real success. Has anyone here any experience with keeping them? I am not sure of the exact spp.
I am really tempted it is a lovely looking snake! |

I haven't kept these but did look into it as a dealer near to me had a load in - unfortunately all sold by the time I had managed to find enough detail on their husbandry!!
They need a tall arboreal viv, plenty of climbing branches, warm and humid. From what I could find, conditions are pretty much as for most of the Boiga species.
The problem you may encounter is feeding - naturally they feed on lizards, birds, etc, so make sure it has fed several times on defrost rodents before buying it!! Clearly there is also the issue of internal parasites, as with any wild caught animals.
Good luck with them, they are stunning! |
