|
|
We have had are little Royal now for approx 4 weeks we have tried feeding him from pinkis to small rats & mice all with no joy, we have done everything from leave the food inside the viv, everything!!
The past 3 days we have found that he as not been intrested in comeing out of the hide, we have just left them him to chill out as we throught he might be shedding.
This evening we decided to check him we have found that his skin as gone very oily, very loose and we decided to weigh him, we have found that he as lost about 15grams in less than a week we have also discovered on the underneath of is body some of his scales have gone pinky red, what could all this mean, we love him too bits and we don't want to lose him any ideas would be very helpfull.
Many thanks |

if the pinky red scales are on his belly he is going to shed. i would be more worried about him losing 15grams in a week. has he pooed or anything in past week. that could account for some weight loss. _________________

another thing, pinks shouldnt be offered to royals, he will be able to take larger items, have you tried heating, braining, chick guts etc? _________________

Get him to the vets to be sure, 15g in a week is saying parasites to me.
Do you know history of him?
WC/CF/CB?
Whats your ambient temps and RH? _________________ MORE THAN 2! |

if its parasites dont worry. the vet will give you wormer. you will probably find he will start to eat then. best to be sure though. _________________

Mites under the scales?
I would get him off to the vets for a check over, worming and check for parasites _________________ MORE THAN 2! |
