I am looking at getting my misses a snake after Christmas. We haven't kept snakes before so would like one that is ideal for a beginner, but there is a few things I am after.
1) Something that can be really tame.
2) Something that doesn't grow too big.
3) Something that isn't really thin. (such as a corn snake)
Idealy it would be something that is able to go in a 4ftx2ftx2ft or smaller as I am running low on room untill I start building in my spare room.
I was looking at a Cali King. Some places say they are a good first timers snake and some say they aint. _________________ 1.1.0 Major Plated Lizard

Corn snakes as babies can be quite fast. I would go for a royal python. They are generally placid and would live comfortably in that size viv as an adult. Only downside is that royals can be quite picky with their food. _________________

what about a male western hognose. dont grow too big, and a viv half that size would do it. and they are not as fast moving as the corns. although my first choice would be a corn. _________________
