hi there. i can only go with what i learned from mine. he was an adult when i bought him though. ignore the hiss, even although it reminds you of a lorry tyre deflating rapidly, its only a bluff. and if he nips or bites, dont let him 'chew' on whatever part he has a hold of. apart from that they are gorgeous wee characters, you just cant help falling in love with them. and cheeky too. also if your is a hatchling, they tend to play dead when frightened. so if you see him lying on his back with his tongue out.....do not bury him!!!! _________________

I look forward to seeing them really i have to admit never heard a snake hiss in the flesh so will be a wee suprise lol And the thought of a nip or bite once in a while doesn't faze me had so many different animals wanting a taste gerbils, hermit crabs, cats etc..
He is gorgeous!! need to start thinking of a name for him think iv used all the possible pet names for my lot in the past lol
I don't know when i am getting him yet hopefully within the next fortnight _________________ Altogether i have a zoo of 45 scaley's and slimey's

they use the hiss to scare of any predators, so its extra loud. with mine being an adult he wasnt used to being handled, so first time i heard it i thought bloody hell. im used to the royals going psst psst. this is something else. but yours will be well handled am sure lol. so you may not hear it. its great when you get new ones isnt it? cant wait to see the wee guy. _________________

It is really exciting cant wait!! I have always had a soft spot for snakes, and always wanted one but family members were not so keen but now that i have had the Gecko's they are becoming more lenient as soon as i get him i will post pics _________________ Altogether i have a zoo of 45 scaley's and slimey's

Excellent choice there, they are full of character and great fun to own. I have two adult pairs, Grunt and Griselda, Miss Piggy and ??? - no name yet. Keep them in warm temps, not hot. I just have a heat mat over 1/3 of the viv area. They like to burrow so give nice deep substrate, but make sure that it is not dusty or their nares - nose bits - will block up. Great fun watching tunnels appear Water deep enough to bathe in, but not swim in. I also give tubes and loo rolls etc., and also a hand-full of hay as they seem to like hiding in it.
Your boy will not get as large as a female. Have fun. Hope that you like the photos that I am attaching. Look forward to seeing photos of your lad.
