it was really simple to make,well simple if you can weld and have access to small section angle iron and weld mesh panel from start to finish it probly took me about 2.5 to 3 hours in total.i used the heat cable instead of heat matts so that the heat was basically everywhere in the box.the inside of the melamine casing is lined with 25 mm polystyrene

Jamie that looks excellent. I am fairly useful at turning my hand to various D.I.Y. jobs, so may I be a total pain up the left armpit and please ask for step by step instructions ? Never welded before, but hey, if I hire the equipment and am very careful, why not... Sure that lots of us on the Forum would be very interested.

you wouldnt really need to be able to weld,im sure you would be able to do a simmilar thing using bolt together angle.basically all you need to do is decide what boxes you are going to use,then calculate what size 'carcass' you are going to need to accomodate the egg box's and the angle that carries the heat cable and support the weld mesh panels.remeber you need to add at least 50 mm to any dimension's because of the polystyrene that keeps the heat in.ill get a few measurements and do a pos on building one if you like
