i've recently acquired 2 exo-terra 45cm cubes which i intend to use for young gtp's , can anybody advise on a few possible heating set-ups,preferably for a room where the ambient air temp can drop to the low sixties farenheit,i would prefer not to use ceramic bulbs if possible to maintain humidity levels.

Exo-Terra have recently brought out in the UK a range of hoods. Two are available to my knowledge. One is designed more for lighting but the other has the option to fit two GU-10 heat bulbs as well as two fluorescents.

Here is a link

We have some in at the shop (see link in my profile) If i remember correctly they retail at about £80 (not cheap but they do look very good.

You could always go for a heat mat under the tank and do it the old fashioned way Laughing

One thing that I would do is cover as much of that screened top as possible, it will be almost impossible to maintain correct humidity otherwise.

i know the exo-terra lids are good, but £80 is a bit steep! its more than the tanks cost each!, think somebody got their sums wrong there! Laughing
another minus point is tanks cant be stacked with those on either. Sad
nope think i know what i'm doing,i've just got a real nice bulb guard which fits to a vivarium roof via the bulb holder,it works a treat. Smile
