Hi Luke, welcome to the forum
1) where is a good shop in Shropshire so get started don't want to order over the net if possible.
Try Shropshire Exotics in Newport www.shropshire-exotics.co.uk, they have some well started Yemens Chams in at the minute, and a baby Panther Cham
2) what is a good but small sized chameleon to start with.
The starter Chameleons are probably Yemens, Panthers and Carpets, although if you have the right setup then I'm sure most Chams would thrive.
3) what type of vivarium or Terrariums would be suitable also ( sorry this is going to sound dumb) what is the difference
This depends greatly on the type of Cham you go for, it's advised that Yemens are kept in mesh vivariums for increased ventilation, whereas Panthers are best kept in vivs with mesh tops and partial mesh fronts. _________________ A lil bit of Madagascar

vivariums are made of wood and terrariums are made of glass.
terrarium is a commonly used term in america, which i think works for any reptile housing _________________ Tom

Not necessarily, vivarium is the term used to describe general reptile housing, ok mostly made from wood, but not specifically.
Terrarium is the term used to describe housing for reptiles and amphibians that contains plants.
