Where should i start
Its feeding night and was just about to separate two royals in one viv for there food and i noticed that their tails were locked together.
The problem is,
firstly i havent started to cool any of them for breeding.
the male is about 2.2kg which isnt a problem, But the female is (and i am only guessing) about 800grams
What do i do.
I have just looked and the female is nice and happy sitting in the middle and the male has got a right grip from what i can see. |

Did you not think about this before puttin a male and female together?
You cant seperate them it will be very dangerous I guess!!! _________________ Regards, Paul.

are you sure you have the sexes the right way round?
If they are getting a night time natural drop it is the same as cooling?
Who,s tail is underneath?

Thats what i thought when i brought them but when probed yes they are the right way around
No night time drops as the viv is heated all the time.
the larger one has his tail underneath |

once they unlock I would remove to the rack , assuming its ready , complications for a female that weight , hopefully she wont ovulate at that body weight . just MHO _________________ 3.7.0 Royals

As scott has wrote, a female knows if she is ready, so dont worry,
personaly I would split them up(when they have finished) and if she is a good feeder see if she will eat every 3/4 days for a couple of months. If she does and hits about 1300grms+ throw her back in
It is what I would do but lots will frown

yep, I wouldn't worry about it at all, just seperate them once they have finished and keep an eye on the female. On the very slim chance she ends up gravid it's important to make sure she has a good nesting site in plenty of time but I am pretty sure nothing will come of it _________________

Thanks for the replies guys.
He has finished having his way now, so i have separated them both.
I will try to feed her tonight as she did not eat last night as she was busy |
