Ithink the 'by eye' thing come form a LOT of experience, like you get to know or feel how the humidity is. Personally, I prefer the idea of a nice accurate gadget Smile

Rad, do you use one digital per snake as a permanent fixture or do you just port it about and check regularly? Humidity is a concern of mine is 50L RUB's as well, I'm going to go for 7 x 10mm holes in either short end and see how that works, I can always add a couple of extras in the sides as I go along If needs be at cleaning time. You just have to love battery drills, sandpaper and a nice warm shower head, all without snakey in the RUB I hasten to add.
