- we're going to try the three 25W night-glo lamps first and see how it goes but if it doesn't work (not holding out too much hope!!) will give your idea a try.

Had an email from Scott - my cresties are arriving on Tuesday -woo-hoo!

I have read that I shouldn't try and handle them in the first couple of weeks until they settle in, so should I just open the box in the viv and let them come out by themselves? Sorry if my questions sound dumb - never received reptiles by courier before!!!!!

Hey Carol, great news on the cresties coming on Tuesday. If it were me then I would just open the box/tub and let them get in the viv and get on with it themselves like you said. Give them a couple of days to settle in and then just play it by ear. Maybe introduce your finger with some fruit or something on the end and see if they take to licking it off. There are quite a few ways of trying to tame them etc - just browse the forum and see what you can find.

Good to know I can ask questions without feeling like a dumb*ss! Have been browsing some of the other forums and they don't seem to be as friendly, particularly to newbies like me. Will stick to this one - everyone has been really helpful and welcoming .
