I am currently researching the best possible diet for a small CB07 animal. Any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Diets vary alot between monitor keepers, and you won't get a straight answer. In my opinion, the wild diet will evidently be the best. One important thing is whole food items are 100% better for the animals, bones, feathers, fur, wings, exoskeletons etc are all as important as the meat. I'd say that the younger the animals, the more invertebrates in its diet, and even when adult, large locusts are good food items Smile

Mememe hit the nail on the head with the "whole" food item. Locust, cricket's, roaches and snails all make up a good invertebrate diet. I would also feed appropriately sized rodents such as quail, chicks, mice and rats. Remember with the rodents it is much better to feed smaller meals more frequently. My albigs are close to 5' and still only have weaner rats/small and very rarely medium rats.

Sorry almost forget, do you mind me asking where you got a CBB whitethroat from in the UK? Any pics?

The animal actually came from us stock and was founded through a close friend, I have also managed to acquire a pair of CB07 green tree monitors however they wont be here until spring of next year all being well.

Very nice! I believe they are black throat though, look like V albigularis ionidesi rather than V albigularis albigularis.

Were they produced by Rob Faust by any chance?

I was also quite surprised when i received him about being noted as a white throat however after another phone call with the breeder he assures me of a white throat.

Oh well he is a cracking animal either way.

Thanks
