Can i set the preverbial cat amongst the pigeons!!!

What is everyone's views on the Royal Python 'craze'? Do you think it is here to stay? Or do you think it will implode in a couple of years? It just seems that everyone and their mother is now breeding Royal Pythons.

I have seen people who have superb, diverse, collections sell up to 'jump on the band wagon' that is the Royal Python Craze. Will this, in your opinion, be a wise decision in a few years? Both privately and commercially.

Now that i have dropped this little bomb shell i will watch with interest everyone's comments. Laughing

Well,I don't understand how people can say the market is
not sustainable and will eventually implode.

CB NORMALS still average at about £60 and they have been around YEARS.

I can agree that co doms loose value fast as most people have a male
co dom and breed it to about 10 normals.
But royals have an average clutch of about 6 eggs and it is deffinatly
not guaranteed that a female will produce.

I think the market is still going strong and will be for a long time to come.
Although saying that I don't think there will be any more £100k royals anymore.

They have become much more affordable pushing up the demand thus the increased
demand has increased the amount being produced but the demand
aways outways supply.

Thats my take on things.

LONG LIVE THE BALL PYTHON lol

Too late to edit damn! lol

Just like to say that the people that see $$$$$ will quickly fall and will not
succeed.

There is money to be made but it is a long term investment.

Btw, this is my take on things and at the moment I dont keep any morphs
so I could be talking rubbish! Smile

I'm bored of it! Don't get me wrong, I like the look of them, but they curl up and hide - boring.

Every man and his dog is breeding pastels this year, I'd put a pound on it that you'll see breeders selling pastels for less than £150 next year. Watch market saturation next year with spiders too....

In my view the only people who buy ball morphs are those who want to breed them, not as a piece of art or whatever because you never see them. Balls aren't a 'beginner snake' due to the potential feeding problems.

Lil rant, sorry. I admire those who breed and keep them and i have 3 myself so I'm not being an arse about it.

well you do see mine. not as often as the corns, but they are out for a wander 3/4 times a week, and are always going around the tubs. i dont care if mine breed. lots of people may do, but it doesnt matter to me. i dont think there is a male anywhere brave enough to get in wi that cinny. and i like the pastels, but do not think i would buy one.

Well IMO they can be an ideal beginners snake in the fact that they don't get to big,
are timid and don't require allot of space.

My first snake is a Ball python, she is CF which is a mistake.
But I don't care she is great and Im coping ok with it.

Buy CB.

P.S. Everyone is breeding pastels because they are affordable
and one of the most readily available.
Hopefully Pastel wont have to be my first morph! Cool
