Hi, I'm a novice in this field, I have kept Chameleons for only 6 months, I have a large male, who is doing great, very healthy and friendly, I bought a female in September, they are in (separate vivariums) after a few weeks I noticed the female had a bulge in her left eye, so I kept an eye on it, then it seemed to be OK, now it is in her right eye, and I think her eye sight has almost gone in that eye, I have sterile water(normal saline) which I bathe her eye with, this seems to have helped as the eye is not cloudy now, but it still has a bulge around that eye, is there any advice to what I should do, or am I doing the right or wrong thing, I don't want to do more harm than good. she is in great shape, eats well and drinks very well, has shed twice in 2 weeks, runs around really fast, but I'm worried about her eye. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.. thanks

had the same problem with my cham first week i got her, the bulge was soft not hard, i think it may have been irritated by a twig in the viv or maybe a little dirt got in the eye, after speaking with rick (rickezee) and BELIAL they thought the best thing would be to flush they eye a couple of times a day with saline solution, worked within a few days for me and he has been fine since,if that doesn't work then it is a visit to the vet. im sure one of them will be along soon to give you some advice, good luck getting it sorted

Best get a vet to check it out, I think. If you've tried flushing it with water for a few days and it's still there, the problem may be more serious.

Sounds like some debris has entered the eye, if the flushing out does not work, see a vet, lacti lube can be applied and is available over the counter. Good luck. Just as a note any water that you use to spray the viv with ensure it is treated with something like reptisafe or just left to stand for 24 hours to release the nasties in it such as chlorines etc. As these can irritate a chams eyes.
