I am looking at getting a female red tail Boa, how can you tell the differents to a normal as they can look almost the same.

I already have a male that i know is a true suriname red tail, and really want a female for him.

I assume you are asking the difference between a true red tail (Suriname/Guyanan) 'BCC - Boa Constrictor Constrictor' against a normal - Columbian 'BCI - Boa Constrictor Imperator'? If that's the case and you already have a true Suriname I would of thought you could easily see the difference. Are you sure yours is a true Suriname? Please post some pics. Here is a pic of a male BCC approx. 7' that I used to have.

Nice BCC Rad!

I think you'll soon see the difference when compared to a common BCI. The head looks slightly longer and slender on a BCC, look for the 'widow's peaks' on the back (the points in the saddles) and the tail colouration is always much better on a BCC (rich red with the cream surround).
