Now i am confused! The breeder i got them off also had some Sorongs and they looked nothing like my animals! They were all green with a lot of blue on the dorsal. They were also a much slender snake.

Can somone post some decent comparison pics of the differant localaties?

Relatively straight forward once you've got the set-up right. They're a bit more sensitive to husbandry errors than a lot of other species but other than that no major problems if its a quality CB animal.

The biggest problem with chondros IMO is that there are still so many farmed imports and wild caught ones being sold in the UK. These specimens are often in less than perfect health and when they subsequently "fall off the perch" it just adds to the myth that chondros are an "experts only" snake that is very hard to keep in captivity.

Cheers stuart, if they are not biaks then i think they must be crosses, Biak x Sorong maybe? I have seen pure sorongs and they are definately differant. Could they be Glase phase?

Very, very beautiful animals. I had been told that Biaks are fairly aggressive (a trait that they never lose apparently). Having had Biaks and having been bitten by my Biaks I'm inclined to believe that this is indeed the case! If yours are comparatively tame it would suggest they may indeed be Sarong (which to me they look like or perhaps a Sarong cross).

Whatever the case though you are bound to produce some stunning babies from them!

I think they are sorong x biak personally,

i sold my nice big male Biak just over a year or so ago.

Yes, they could definitely be locality type crosses. The thing with chondros is that there is such variability, even within locality types, that unless you've got full data on their origins its virtually impossible to make any hard and fast statements about their pedigree. The "Glass" phase that you refer to is indeed a sorong x biak cross but the term is generally regarded as specific to the breeder rather than a generic term so maybe not the best of ideas to refer to them as that.

In my "expert" (in very inverted commas) opinion, you've got yourself a pair of stunning chondros and if you get babies I will camp outside your house until they're ready for new homes.

They look like biaks to me just more yellow than normal
