ok ive nearly finished building my cham viv
its 4ft high 3ft wide and 2ft deep
im planning on putting a 36inch uv vertical down the back and wondered would it be best to use an 8% uv or the new 10% uv bulbs
ive been using 8% till now but wondered if 10% would be better as these last longer too but i dont want to over do the uv

any advice guys

very nice looking viv.

I personally would use a 10, I would also use it horizontal near the top on the back wall (probably use two). I would provide the basking spot light near to these tubes so that when the chameleon is basking, it is recieving the uv too. Also, I would make sure there are plenty of branches to allow the the chameleon to get near the basking lights (well all over the viv too).

Nice viv, I would also be inclined to use a 10 horizontelly and positioned near to the basking spot. Are you sure there will be enough ventilation?

i'd also advise to mount the bulb horizontally, say about a foot from the top with a reflector at a 30 - 45 degree angle so it is shining across the top of the plants. I think it would make best use of the plants

cheers

looks good kelly, just keep an eye on the ventilation and that the air doesn't become stale. it should be fine though.

what type of cham? how do you intend to keep it humid enough? are you going to use a dripper?

I would also mount the uv on the roof with a reflector and you can also use a simple full spectrum light aswell to increase the light levels
