As you may know I got a Leopard Gecko on friday that I'm really happy with. H's quite jumpy when there are sudden sounds/movements around the tank as I would expect, especially after travelling up from Brighton. He's eaten at least 6 decent sized meal worms (last night) and possible one cricket, though that could be hiding somewhere.
Anyway, he seems to be spending a lot of time in his moits hide, he is in there through the day as it would be expected, though at night he doesn't seem to come out. He burries himself in the moss through the day and last night when I opened the lid to spray it he was sitting on the surface and climbed out, which is when he ate the meal worms, however, within around an hour, he was back in his box, I don't know if he came out through the night, but I left the light off and checked every hour until about 10/half 10 and there was no sign. Is this normal behavior? Or is it likely to be down to the journey as well?
Thanks,

Leo's are crepsular, they are more active first light and dusk/sunset.
You get a mix with leos like with any other animal, some will be shy and hide away, others will be out and about all the time. _________________ MORE THAN 2! |

The only time I really see mine is just before feeding time. They know when I feed them so they sit and wait for me. Otherwise I just hear them moving around when I'm in bed. _________________

mine are all different, and all have their sleepy spots..
they dont do jack all day but then come out and get curious around 7pm - 3am.
one is obsessed with coming to the front whenever there is anything going on in the room and will climb up and press itself against the glass when the cats are looking in, seems to really want to hang out with them and goes as soon as they leave from looking into the viv..
same one also climbs out onto my hand whenever i open the glass and will just sit on my hand for ages, also seems to sleep on a peice of qwartz rather a lot.
not sure if this is good or bad but certainly seem social and inquisitive, hoping that its not scared of other geckos in there with it. |

my 4 Young geckos do jack all during the day - kinda boring ha ha but my big female occasionally walks about, infact shes peering at me from her hide just now lol - cute lil beastie haha
could be that when they reach maturity they become more active - confident :S - who knows

Never see him through the day, he burries himself completely in the moss in the moist hide. But he's started to come out at night now, as soon as the light in the room goes off he seems to make his way out straight away and has eaten a few more mealworms _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos
