I was told these were an exceptionally docile species - can anyone let me know when they get to the docile stage? This pair are nutcases. Gorgeous and I am very impressed with them, but they do like to strike!
Bandicoot (the male)
Kookaburra (the female)

They look awesome!..I was very close to getting a pair a few weeks back..I have heard of a few snappy ones....so just keep handling,I'm sure they will calm as they age. _________________

Love womas fantastic lookers.
I nearly got some recently, was told by the various sources that the feeding response is incredible and can be mistaken for aggression. BUT the odd one can as in all snakes be a bit naughty

I have 2.2 woma's and they are as tame as a puppy apart from 1 male who is a complete nut case.
I handled the 3 docile ones from a very young age and obviously this is why they are tame.
But the 1 male was not a great feeder to start with so I left him alone until he started feeding on a weekly basis. Now anything that goes into his viv is classed as food including my hand.
I have just started to remove him from his viv and feeding him in a plastic tub just so he stops mistaking my hand for food.
My advice is once they are feeding consistently then handle daily and they will tame right down.
Hope this helps. |

The photos certainly indicate an aggressive streak rather than an overly zealous feeding response.
Don't let their aggression put you off. Ensure that you keep picking them up 2 or 3 times a week for 15-20 minutes at a time. They'll soon calm down. You can initially wear a marigold washing up glove or pick them up with a hook, which should inhibit some of their aggressive behaviour. I still use a hook for my womas prior to handling. It just let's them know it's not feeding time.
Good luck.
