What nice photos of some really gorgeous snakes. Showing my ignorance probably, but are they the Borneo Bloods ? Earlier this year I was visiting my Daughter and her family in Florida and we of course went into a Rep shop. The owner was totally disinterested in his stock and in a brightly lit viv with no hide box, I saw a Borneo Blood. It was very young, emaciated and with a huge lump on it.
The owner gave it to me saying that it would not eat and would not prosper. I bought a couple of pinks and when we got back to my Daughters home we sorted out a box with a paper bag as a hide. The wee chap eagerly ate the two pinks.... I SOOOOO wanted to smuggle it home to the UK  but instead we took it to a good rep shop that my Daughter knows quite well. My son-in-law had refused to let the family keep it...  
The people at the shop cared for it properly and sorted out the lump, an abscess. My Daughter emailed me a few weeks later with news that the wee chap was doing just great.

What a nice story, well done for saving the poor chap sure if it stayed in that place much longer it would have died.
No, these bloods are not Borneo Bloods (Python breitensteini) they are Albino Malaysian Red Bloods (Python brongersmai) a very similar species but different. Just to give you an idea of the colour variety the next pic is a pair of normal malaysian red bloods, followed by a pic of a Borneo Blood:

Bloods have a reputation for being aggressive and blood thirsty, but in my experience this is completely not true. Hatchlings can be a bit nippy but this is the same for any hatchling snake, no more nippy than a hatchling carpet python varient.
Adults tend to be a lot more placid, and generally loose any aggressive urges once they hit about 3 ft. Obviously there will be the odd individuals that are aggressive, but they are a minority.
Also captive bred bloods tend to be alot more docile than captive farmed or wild caught bloods.

Beautiful snakes. I love the bloodpythons, really do. I'm seriously thinking about getting one, but how are their behaviour? Agressive or just layed back?
