Since we have been getting colder weather the temperature towards the bottom of my terrarium is about 60 F.

I would like to try and get this a little hotter, however if I turn the heat light on anymore it will be too hot at the top of the terrarium.

I was thinking of getting a heat mat to put onto the bottom of the terrarium to try and create some heat rising up through the terrarium to bring the bottom temperature up a bit.

Do people think this will work?

Any suggestions are welcome...

Thanks,

Darren

I use heat mats under the cage, a 6" heat strip runs along the back of every cage. This is on a stat and set at 88f surface temp (approx.)

Remember though, this won't really heat the air temps though.

Cheers Scott.

Any ideas how I could warm up the air temp at the bottom then?

I would have thought a heat mat would have made it warmer in the terrarium as heat rises?

Ive got a heat bulb at the top which offers a constant basking spot for the lizard.

However its obviously not powerful enough to warm the bottom up.

If I buy a more powerful bulb then its only going to fry my lizard.

Confused

Is 60F bad for these little guys?
