the marker is two things, first on normals the belly is clear and the black forms two tram lines from the vent up the body by an inch on babies and secondly you get orange bleeding through quite strongly in the same area but on the sides.
I have hatched out 3 het pied clutches and EVERY baby clearly has both markers. Out of the other 60+ babies I have hatched from non pied parents NONE has either marker.
I'm not saying that ALL & ANY ball python with the marker is het pied as I myself have over 20 that I selected from captive farmed babies and I doubt they can all be wild het pieds I would also say that a het pied doesn't have to have the markers to be a het pied either but when you hatch 3 clutches and every one has it it's a very reliable way of knowing who the daddy was _________________

Exactly, so how do you know that the normals are 100% het pied and not codom siblings? |
Ah he has a point you know!..I think anyway with my feeble understanding of genetics..lol _________________
