Mark,Very nice IJ Jags, the colour and pattern are top notch.Could we just clarify exactly what they are though as you state "07 75% Reduced pattern Irian Jaya Jags". This doesn't ring true as the female parent was a 50% Irian Jaya Jaguar that you bought from me as a baby in '05. Any reduced influence could only possibly result to 50% although there would be 75% IJ influence overall.Cheers,Paul. |

Paul,They are 75% Irian jaya jags, thats what I was referring to in the title.
The reduced part comes from the male as he is a Reduced pattern Irian Jaya (so called New Guinea).
If you look at the pics I think that you will see that they have a REDUCED pattern? What would you call them Paul? _________________ Regards Mark |

Mark,As I said before very nice pattern and colour. The name is a bit difficult, I guess I would call them 75% Irian Jaya Jaguars (with 50% reduced pattern influence) although that's a bit of a mouthful _________________ Cheers,

Mark,
You can call your snakes whatever you want, you don't need my permission
The problem might arise next year though when the 50% Reduced pattern Irian Jaya Jaguars that I hatched in '05 and '06 (from breeding a reduced pattern IJ male to a coastal jag female) are bred back to reduced pattern IJ's, by myself and one or two others. I would think that they would be called "75% Reduced Pattern Irian Jaya Jaguars" but you already have that name for a different mix of jag. Just thinking ahead and trying to avoid any confusion.
Once again, lovely jags that you have produced regardless of what you call them _________________ Cheers,

Mark,I don't use the term "New Guinea" for the reduced pattern animals as I think it's misleading, there's no evidence at all to support the suggestion that they come from that side of the island. _________________ Cheers,
