i know what u mean as i own a shop selling pet stuff it breaks my heart seeing all the old dogs that are barely hanging on, eating nowt and obviously in pain! And i just coulnt do that to any animal of mine at all,i would never keep any animal hanging on for my own sake to keep me happy and spare me of feeling sad! When bon went to sleep i actaullay felt good because i know he didnt suffer and that means a lot to me

And from the sounds of it Stu you have done exactly the same for your dog and so that is wicked as you wouldnt believe the amount of people that keep their poor old dogs going on! Sad

Thats cool u have another dog to keep ya company and the pain will heal, even though it seems like a right kick in the **** at times

Anyways best wishes matey i really mean that Very Happy

Thanks James..Kinkyskink thanks for the kind words and seems you have the same feelings as me,really not fair to let them suffer and once the vet said he was that was all I needed to hear to make my decision, not an easy one but had to be made.. Confused

aww I'm really sorry Stu its so horrible losing a pet: I'm sure he had the best life in your care and you done the right thing by him.

My kitten just got run over yesterday Crying or Very sad I'm totally gutted he was a wicked cat and wasn't even a year old, he was from my females litter so watched him open his eyes and take his first stumble out of the bed.
Take care
Gemma

Ever so sorry to here of your grief Sad
I lost my staff, Grendel a few years back after 13 1/2 years together, he was my brother and i still miss him....
He had a growth going on in his head causing him to fit, not a very nice thing to experience, especially when he releaved him self during a fit on the extension lead in my bedroom and electrocuted us both, funny now!
The vet said there was nothing that could be done for him as he was so old and that i should be assured that what i was doing was the best thing for him!! I still have photos and memories, like the time i took him for a walk down by the river and he spotted a rabbit by the shore, he gave chase and in order to catch the rabbit he had to take a short cut over a fiberglass row boat only he didnt figure on the boat having two sides and went straight through the boats far side leaving a bull terrier shaped hole in it, never broke his stride, never caught the rabbit..

you have my sympathies Smile
