|
|
My royal eggs are on day 29 today and i checked on them and several have got small dents. I know that they do dent as they get closer to hatching but is it too early at the minute? The humidity is at 92-93% so do not think that is the cause. |

hi
Mine did the same, probably a bit earlier than 29 days, its a balancing act, not too damp not too dry, I put the vermiculite over the top of the eggs which started to dent and looked at hundreds of egg pictures on the internet. Lots do dent.
http://www.ballpython.com/page.php?topic=incubation is good read.
My ratio of water vermiculite was probably more 3 parts vermic 2 parts water by weight which is less humid than some reccomend. Its a pain and I spent hours obsessing, there is a few Qs i threw out on the forum to do with this.
If it smells o.k. and no mold and if candle eggs and look o.k. then should be o.k.
On more than one occasion I replaced a good part of the vermiculite with a fresh mixed batch. If It would have helped I would have sat on them myself.
hope helps
