Hi
Think for a pair that you would be looking at something about 8x5x3.
They really do like to climb and so the height is important with lots of branches. The more branches and hiding places I added the more relaxed the roughnecks got.
I think that as they are so arboreal that their care is similar enough to other arboreal monitors.
I have a maximum temperature of about 84 and a min about 78 during the day. basking area of about 100 - 105. Nigh time the whole viv goes down to about 75.
They get offered large black dusted crickets everyday. They get hand fed on 16" tongs and got used to that quite quick. It saves crickets breeding in their viv! Every 2nd day they get a fuzzy each. Using tong also means I know exactly which specimens are eating.
They have a water bowl that they can fit into and often use it
nighttime humidity is about 70 - 80% and during the day drops to about 50%
Also remember that they are not really a dwarf and can still get to 4 feet plus!
cheers

there is a website in the works at the moment which will be aimed at the 'roughneck monitor' group (V. dumerillii and V. rudicollis). A friend of mine has purchased the domain and is now building the website. I do not know of when the launch date is set for, but you can check back every now and then to see if it's up and running.

Thanks for the replys
I don't have enough space for a viv that size in the house so i better get a shed sorted out then.
Would a pair of ackies/storrs moniters be ok in the 4.5ft high by 3.5ft wide and 2ft deep viv.
