that's a downer when that happens and they look freaky for some time before you get used to them again Still the upside is it now looks like it's wild relations _________________

Aw man...I'm sure you'll get used to it soon though!
Not as bad as what I came home to find though! 2 of 3 lizard cages had no food or water in, the biggest of the 2 looked like it had snowed, there was calcium all over the middle of the substrate. And worst of all for me...My final 2 eggs had completely dehidrated and caved in...with 2, what would have been, healthy looking lizards inside, looking close to hatching! _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

Lack of care I think... Thanks for the offer, will keep you in mind for future! Would much prefer to travel further and have well looked after lizards than someone near by who doesn't pay as much attention to them...
It's just a case of getting through to my mum that there are reliable people around, even if we havn't met them before!
What's even worse about the eggs is I think that's her finished for the year, she hasn't laid since June _________________ 1.1.1 Crested Geckos

Aww, that's a shame but I still think they look cure regardless of whether they have a tail or not.
Tom, I'd be happy to help out looking after your geckos if you go away again. We're not that far apart. _________________

thats a shame minno and tom.
i hate when people don't pay attention to the instructions i give them when i go on holiday.
the worst one i had was when i went away for a while (before i had reptiles) and i had a lot of tropical fish (5 tanks) and i had just set up a new tank, which i was waiting for the ammonia, nitrate and nitrite levels to become the right values to actually house fish, and it had been going for a week (it normally takes 2 weeks to sort out), right so i left the 'pet carer' with clear instructuions not to put food in that tank, as it had no fish in it and it would cause the ammonia levels to go to high.
But as soon as i got home, i went to check on my fish, all the fish were still alive in my other tanks, however the empty tank was absolultetly full of food, i had to clean it out and wait another 2 weeks before i could put fish in it. But t worst thing was we got back at about 11 in the evening and i was still there cleaning out the horrible stinky tank until midnight. The lady also put dead fish (what i feed some of my massive carnivourous fish) in the tank that housed my newts, and killed two of the 4 that lived in there. She was not asked to do it again. _________________ Tom
