Hi.
Does anyone know incubation length for peacock monitors. found 13 eggs this morning whilst cleaning out nest box. not sure when they were laid. ten look ok & 3 have caved in. cut one open, inside was just creamy yellow liquid, looked like thick custard.will just wait and see. set up incubator before going to work, was a little late Wink

Hi John,

Hope you are well. What sexes did they turn out in the end? If you incubate them at a constant 84 they should hatch around 4 months. Let me know how you get on.

Lee.

Hi Lee.
Thanks . the one we wasn't sure of laid the eggs. unfortunately when i came back from a week in ireland, i found her dead in the nest box. i believe the smaller one is also female as you also thought. well pleased about the eggs, but gutted about the lizard. will pop in and have a chat when i'm down your way.

cheers mate.

First egg hatched sat morning 12/1.08. what a fantastic looking hatchling. i was starting to think the worse when another one went mouldy earlier in the week. i still have two eggs in the incubator, both look good. sorry i dont have any pic's, i dont even have a computer at the moment, mine has packed up & i have to scrounge a go of my boys. incubating temps were between 84f-84.9f. on cold nights they occasionally went down to 82f. & as high as 85.3f during milder days. hatchling measures approx 78mm snout to tail. its hard to believe that it came out of such a small egg.

Thanks Jas. yes well pleased, just hope the other two hatch now. something that surprised me was how different the hatchling looks compared to the adults, almost jet black with tiny gold/yellow specks.
