It certainly looks like a Pituophis, although it seems a lot darker than my Bull.

Ha ha ha, deffo a Northern Pine Snake. Lovely snakes they are too, is this chap yours ? My N.P. is about 6 - 7' long and is getting on a bit now, dear old chap. He is the Quasimodo of my Avator name, obviously not the photo Laughing
