Was going through old boxes and found the box for my camera-with all the leaflets it came with. One of these was advertising all the "extras" and the LED lighting for macro work caught my eye. Has anyone used this? If so, is it really worth the £90+ ive seen it for? _________________ Interested in amphibians? Ring flashes are ok if used for the right subject..personally not a fan for reptiles as I think they produce flat looking pictures as they eliminate any shadows..you can get ring flashes that will only fire half the light thus creating some depth and nikon have quite a sophisticated lighting system for macro use but I hate the catchlights it produces.. _________________

right, cheers stu... would i be better investing in a nice LED torch which I could use in low light situations to produce good lighting (but shadows still) It would also probably be a fraction of the price!! _________________ Interested in amphibians? what are you planning on shooting?.. a fast lens and decent external flash should be fine. _________________

Its for the uber close up shots of my frogs... the flash tends to either wash them out or reflect off something else _________________ Interested in amphibians? Join us at Myamphibia for friendly banter, amazing pictures and great information. Make some amphibious friends today! |

It wont if you direct the flash away or dial it down so its not on full power..I use a nikon sb 600 and works just fine.
