I actually bought them online. I can't remember the name of the store now but I got a couple from ebay and there are always some on there. Do a google search for ferplast duna and loads come up _________________ Regards, Tanya

Forgot to ask in my last post, but how many of the fuzz-balls would you recommend per cage using those ferplast duna? _________________ Sometimes I feel like the RED SHIRT in the Star Trek episode of life. |

hi :
I've found these very good value too
they are made by a company called Gabber i think, and cost about £25 each, they have about double the floor area of the ferplast ones i have found..
only think i would say, is mesh over the bars, as baby mice can will and do get out otherwise lol..
i breed fancies, like tanya, and multis.. as well as for food, i also breed for colour too, keeps it interesting
there are more, lots more, pics here

the read only password is nerys, the album name nerysg and the subalbum to look under is mice..

I keep 5 or 6 females to 1 male in each of those and that does me absolutely fine. Any more than that though and they start to fight and eat their young. That number seems to be the best option in these particular tanks and it keeps a permanent supply of mousies. _________________ Regards, Tanya

AWW...it looks to me as though you've got the rainbow covered in color variety there. They look pretty docile and comfortable being handled....perhaps I should look more into fancies. ---someone on another site was suggsting pinkies...but *shrug*
Your orginal breeding stock, were they purchased through an on-line breeder or did you buy them at a pet store?
At this point, I'm probably about 3-4 months off from beginning to lay in a stock of feeders. I've got a baby Lavendar Albino morph Royal that is going to be shipped to me as soon as the weather warms and she's old enough. I can't wait! The breeder has already told me that I'll need to have live food for her as she refuses frozen/dead. _________________ Sometimes I feel like the RED SHIRT in the Star Trek episode of life. |

blimey, i started with 4 females from a rescue centre in luton, and a male from a friend who breeds... i added a few from tanya (cornfan), and a few from a guy called paul chase, and a few from a friend called Joanne ..
and it kinda went from there, i also have some from simons rodents, and a number from pet shops here are there, if i see a 'new' colour, i'll snap it up and add it into something
handling, have to say yes, they are all socialised to human contact.. i sell babies to the local pet shop too, and they always comment on that actually, how hand happy they are..
i guess i am too soft and when i clean out, like to give them a look over and small handle as i go.. the babies jump like nutters though i have to say.. like small ping pong balls ..
pinkies.. they are new born mice with nor fur,
these are pinkies
the ones here that are patchy, but no fur, i would still class as pinkies..
but in the same pic, the ones far right, and far left, with fur on, i would class as fluffs..

oh ok *smacks her own forhead*...sorry, the whole concept of feeding live or *once* live food to a pet (without it being first commercially processed) is all new to me. *feels like such a noob!*
Thanks Nerys (beautiful name) for the clarification!.....
I really don't trust the local pet stores in my area (I've *seen* how the house pets in general ) ), so I guess my next step is to find someone on-line that sells mice....I've still got a few months until my baby Royal will be shipped. *sigh*
Thanks for all the help! _________________ Sometimes I feel like the RED SHIRT in the Star Trek episode of life. |

I'll keep you two guys in mind....considering that I'd like a diverse starting stock (though I have to admit I like some of corn's colors). Though if I bought from either of you, it would have to be airmail as I am bad, being in the States and you guys over in the UK.
Yes, your mum has a beautiful name too...*so jealous* _________________ Sometimes I feel like the RED SHIRT in the Star Trek episode of life. |
