hatched out my 6th baby last night.
but while looking in the tub i noticed one of the eggs was a bit furry, like when things start to go mouldy .
this is the last egg to be put in , roughly a week old .
now is this because of temps/humidity in the tub or maybe some other factor from before it was put in there .
ive got 7 more eggs in there in various stages of development and all others look fine .
want to work out why one is furry so none of the others turn the same
thanks _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...

That dud egg I got the other week went furry after a couple of days. Is it pure white the fur? I think it could just be an early sign of it being infertile? |

Is it in with any other good eggs? If so I would move it out on its own so that the fur doesnt spread and get on more eggs. And then just see what happens. |

yea its still in the incubating box .
i moved it to the far end away from the others , will take it out when i get home and make an isolation tub see what happens from there.
i really just want to know if the temps/humidity might be causing it or it might just be a dud egg ? _________________ Eyeless frogs welcome...

If the others are fine and have been in there longer then I would probably assume that it's just a dud like Phils, which is bad luck but atleast the others will be ok hopefully! _________________

Have you got a photo of it? From the description it sounds like an infertile egg. When I bred Cresteds I found that towards the end of the breeding season the odd dud cropped up. Give it another few days and if it doesn't improve, chuck it. Sounds like you've had a good season with them. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie
