are you sure the second gecko wasn't male too?

Definitely sure you could see the massive difference between both of there areas. and she was a year old so she wasn't developing

If the substrate is coco-fibre and she got a mouth full of it while hunting or whatever, I would assume it wasn't fully expanded with water before being used and she died because it expanded in her stomach.

A vet can obviously confirm this with an autopsy, if I were you I would remove the stuff and completely soak it before using it again.

I generally sift through any coco fibre I am soaking in a bucket to make sure it is all 100% expanded.

Not a nice thing to happen but perhaps an example of what can happen if you don't take every aspect of a gecko's husbandry into consideration.

Aww no so sorry to hear of your loss. I'd get an autopsy just to put my mind at rest tbh..

If i remember correctly didnt everyone warn you against keeping Phelsuma's on Geckoworld ?
Moderators and members alike told you that you wasnt experienced enough to keep these alive for very long.

Honestly, I found most Phelsuma m. grandis to be about as easy to keep and breed as R. ciliatus.
