I have just joined the forum and thought I should introduce myself. I am based on the Herefordshire/Worcestershire border and currently keep a corn snake, a bearded dragon, a blue tongue skink, an emperor scorpion, a salmon pink bird eater, a rococo toad, stick insects, cockroaches, millipedes, land snails, meerkats, skunks, armadillos, hedgehogs and birds of prey. I am currently looking to add another snake the collection and would be interested in advice on which one to go for. Look forward to talking to you all.

Hi and thanks for the welcome.

Meerkats are wonderful as long as you understand how they tick! They have very strong social structures and strong family groups. We have 2 breeding pairs as well as 2 males that live in the house with us. The 2 in the house regard us as their colony and understand where they fit into the structure of our 'colony'. We have the advantage that my husband works from home so they are very rarely left on their own and they have each other's company at all times. They are great fun, very affectionate - lots of social grooming, very playful and absolutely fascinating to keep.
