Hello ! I'm new here and also new to keeping snakes. Love them and really enjoy handling them too Smile Recently was lucky enough to handle a Cobra (devenomised) and python (unsure of type) whilst traveling in India.

Anyway, last week I rescued a 2.5 year old 4 foot Boa female a week ago Surprised Yes I always jump in at the deep end! good temperament and already feeding well, plucked up the courage to clean her Viv out whilst she was in there and she was fine, so was I Razz

Looking forward to my first handling session but I can tell you I'm getting a bit nervous Embarassed Just realised its a bit of leap from handling other people snakes whilst they're there and being confident enough to own yr own boa Embarassed

Wish me luck

Thanks

Stoke Newington (N16), yes I'm gonna (try to) be calm and confident when I take her out. Ive read up loads on handling and body language but its almost like taking a bungee jump, in that theres an adrenaline rush and little scream inside Very Happy

Once she's coiling up around my arm I'll be fine, in fact I'll be very happy,
