Instead of buying an expensive vivarium, we decided to try to make our own from what we had around the house. There are now random clothes scattered around the house Momma is not happy!
Simply, The 'viv' consists of 2 large plasticboxes and a cut perspex sheet. We drilled many holes for ventilation and attached the boxes firmly together with tiewraps. We originally thought we'd just use the large plastic box but putting the spot bulb in would be a problem (would be too close to lizards and plastic may melt.. so we 'mounted' the deeper box onto the less deep one.
Its designed for berber skinks. The low-end temperature is 79 F and the hot spot 104 F.
More sand will be added and aspen will be added at the cold end. Its also awaiting a UV and some more hides.
Saved alot of money in the end, and they seem to be enjoying it
Made mainly by Andy from 'weloveourmonkeys'. _________________

No, they cant escape. Its sealed with bolts on the perspex which can be removed for opening the 'viv'. Also forgot to mention the perspex is sloped upwards so too much heat doesnt get trapped _________________
