Hello folks,

I will be building a vivarium suitable for a Yemen chameleon. I just have a quick question regarding some viv dimensions.

The place I have in mind to 'custom fit' the vivarium into would mean that the dimensions would have to be approx 18"x18"x4'.

The height is fine, but I am just wondering if 18" for the length and depth would be a bit too slim for the chameleon to live happily in. If need be I can rip out a built in cd rack which would be along side where the vivarium is going which would easily give me a 2foot length to work with, I would rather try and work around it though.

Opinions would be much appreciated

A picture paints a thousand words and all that...

If you look at the picture you can see what I mean, imagine in your head joining up the two glass vivs and the gap between them Laughing Thats almost exactly the dimensions I have to work with unless I remove the CD rack.

All of the geckos currently occupying the vivs there at the moment will be going into the rep shed soon enough (I'll post pics when it's finished), I like the idea of having a big yemen to keep an eye on things in my room once they've moved house Cool

I keep my male yemen in a 6ftx3ftx2ft (hxwxd) so I'd agree with Rick if you can go bigger then I would.
