Hi all,

Right, I finally got round to making a fake wall...I've followed numerous 'walkthroughs' on here that have all used Expanding Foam for the texure...

I've already put this on the polystyrene, but seeing as it's dangerous to humans when it's first put on, how long would I have to wait before I put it in with the Geckos so that it's completely safe?

Thanks,

Tom

It's only dangerous in a confined space whilst it expand and is wet... once it has cured its absoloutly fine Cool

a tip I recomend is misting it with water as this gives it a skin and stops it sticking to everything.

I would leave it about a week (it cures in 24 hours in most cases but best to be safe)

I read on the tin/can/whatever it comes in that it takes around 24/48 hours to cure completely, but after getting home from playing football it's already big and hard (No jokes to be cracked Twisted Evil)

I will mist it and then maybe put the sand on on Saturday, but I probably wont put it in the cage for a while just in case, I may not put sand on it for a while either just to give it more time to get rid of all the toxins.

If its already like that dont bother misting lol it's just when its first sprayed Wink

even tho its hard and expanding it will continue to expand over the next couple days, so waiting till saturday or even longer is the best thing to do.

I use a satay stick to test if its fully cured (just like u do a cake lol)

id still give it a good soaking before applying any cement or grout as i found mine shrunk a little under the moist mixture which then led to cracking

Thats it contracting which happens if you mist it or not Wink thats why its best to leave it for a while before doing anything.
