Say if you had the choich to get a female or a male moj.
which would you choose?
which would be the best.
say you have 2 normal feamales you could get a male mojo and produce 2 clutches.
or if you had a female mojo you could get a pastel male and produce pastaves?
your thoughts?

Buy female Pastel and male Mojave but bear in mind that if you buy 07s the male will be ready to breed before the female. In that case you may as well wait for the female to almost reach maturity and then buy your male as this would save money.

That is exactly what I am hoping to do. Following advice from you all I am getting normal females in the hopes of mating them to some nice morph males and then KEEPING some of the resultant morph females. This is what the Eggman no doubt has done. Wink

I don't totally agree with Eggman but his logic is good.

You have two ways at looking at it, if you buy co-dom males yes you can produce your own co-dom females of that same morph but NOTHING else, nothing new, nothing exciting in terms of doing something no-one else has done or got yet.

I personally would up the anti and say don't buy single morph males, buy combination morphs ie bumblebees, Killer bees, Pewter Pastels etc and single morph females. That is the ONLY way you can get a head or even in the front row of the 'game'. Yes that is expensive, yes you will end up with less snakes for your money but what you do produce will be far better, far easier to sell and who knows you may even create something new and get to give it a silly name that everyone else has to use Laughing

The great thing about ball python morphs is that there is a good spread of morphs at all budgets, it's up to you how much you wish to spend / invest. Even starting off with a pastel male can lead you to super pastels within a few years Cool

I also agree that co-dom males to morph females is the most exciting and productive way .
Although it does become very expensive Evil or Very Mad
